3. At this stage we need to move forward
and create the complete 3D design model of the timber frame. This model
details all structural timbers used in the timber frame. The model will
then create an accurate board foot count, sawmill cutting lists and virtual
perspectives of the timber frame inside and out.
4. From this model, we can accurately depict the cost of your project
and give you a fixed price for the complete timber frame, architectural
drawings (if required), SIP’s (Structural Insulated Panels) (if
required), shipping, and installation. The timber frame model is then
used to create shop drawings and a detailed interface with our K2 Hundegger
Automated Joinery Machine.
5. When the final drawings have been produced, the timbers will need to
be selected and milled on our sawmill.
6. As the timbers are being milled, the customer/builder readies the building
site for the timber frame: foundation, main floor system, concrete work,
mechanical rough ins, etc, all must be completed before the timber frame
arrives.
7. Once the timbers have been cut, they are planed and readied for hand
cutting and C.N.C. machining. The timber frame is then crafted and carefully
test fitted to ensure that the highest of quality has been obtained. As
completion of the timber frame draws near, we will contact you to arrange
the final shipping date and shipping details. The timber frame is then
packaged carefully prior to shipping to your site.
8. If you require HubertHaus Timber Frames to install your timber frame,
representatives are sent to meet the truck on the delivery date to help
assist the forklift or zoom-boom unload the truck and take care of the
timber frame package. (Forklift, Crane, and Installation fee to be supplied
by the customer).
9. After joining the bents on the ground, it is time for the raising of
your timber frame. Raising will take between 1-4 days depending on your
frames size and building site. The raising of a timber frame is an unforgettable
experience, so take lots of photographs.
10. The installation of the Sip’s (Structural Insulated Panels)
start. In a matter of days the entire timber frame is enclosed by the
panel system. Door and window openings are pre-cut by the panel manufacturer,
saving time and labour.
11. At this point it is time to install the roof the exterior doors and
windows, bringing your home to the lock-up stage. You can now call the
rest of the sub-trades to rough in the plumbing, electrical, and heating
systems. Install the drywall or sheetrock. Install cabinets, interior
finishing, exterior siding, painting, and flooring.
12. Call for your final occupancy inspections and permits.
13. Move in and cherish your new HubertHaus timber frame home
